The original name of Quakers is “Society of Friends” which came from John 15:15 “I no longer call you servants, for servants do not know what their lord does, but I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.”

Matthew 5:9; 7:1

Original Quaker beliefs were radical in their day (1600's) and had similarities to those of the Gnostics who were exterminated early in the “Christian” era
